Swanscombe, located near London, England by the River Thames is a region that has uncovered many fascinating finds in the last fifty years.
Swanscombe revealed some of the most intriguing insight into mankind’s past by showing the evolutionary timetable to be somewhat false by direct evidence.
In 1935 and 1936, Alvin T. Marston, a 65-year-old dentist and amateur archeologist from Clapham, discovered the remains of Swanscombe Man. The part of human skull belonged to an early form of modern man (Homo sapiens) and is believed to belong to a young woman.

North Kent - Pilot - Swanscombe - Poseidon
Swanscombe is a relatively isolated, self contained town in Dartford with a small and established community of approximately 6,400 population (c.2,700 households).
For an existing community like Swanscombe, the huge redevelopments to take place in the next 15 years and beyond with major developments at Ebbsfleet, Eastern Quarry, and the Swanscombe Peninsula will undoubtably have an explicit impact on the area and clearly present some major threats to its sustainability.
Swanscombe is therefore at risk of entering a spiral of decline in an area otherwise characterised by increasing affluence.

Swanscombe is a village, part of the Borough of Dartford on the north Kent coast in England.
In 1066 Swanscombe locals massed an army in defiance of William I, and so won the right to continue their ancient privileges, including the tradition of passing inheritance by gavelkind.
Norman Shaw built a church at Swanscombe for the workers of the cement industry, and it survives as a rare example of his design.

Chris Stringer responds to Jack Cuozzo
Sample 1 is claimed by Cuozzo to be a left mastoid process from the Swanscombe skull, and sample 2 is supposedly the pubic bone from the skeleton.
Unfortunately, the actual fossil human bones from Swanscombe were too large to enter the EDX analytical chamber, but their preservation is consistent with the other Swanscombe fossils and also unlike Dr Cuozzo's specimens.
To summarise, Dr Cuozzo's Swanscombe "bones" can be shown by observation, analysis and sectioning to be pieces of siliceous gravel, and this should have been apparent to him if he had conducted even a cursory comparison of these pieces with actual mammalian fossils from the site.

 Swanscombe
For many years this station remained largely unchanged and unlike its predecessor, it was never built with a refuge siding spurring off the ''down'' line; this was in light of its, comparatively speaking, remoteness from the cement works.
It became just plain ''Swanscombe'' in May 1969 and was served only by slow trains stopping at all stations - the aforementioned railmotor service had disappeared decades ago, back in the days of the SEandCR.
The Swanscombe cement operation became the most extensive in the North Kent area and in 1928, four 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotives were delivered from Hawthorne Leslie, followed by a fifth the next year, then a sixth in 1935.

These larvae (1&2) found in the Swanscombe woman are in the mastoid portion of the temporal bone.
In the life cycle of Trichinella, after penetration of the duodenum wall, the female worm deposits her eggs and from there the larvae spread throughout the circulatory system by means of lymphatics and capillaries to the lungs, heart and skeletal muscles.
However, as the preservation of his material is demonstrably completely different from those of Pleistocene fossils from Swanscombe, including the human cranial bones, I see no reason to alter my view that he has not found more parts of the Swanscombe human.

IBSS - Other Views - Dr. Jack Cuozzo
When he began cleaning them up at home, one appeared to be a mastoid process and the other appeared to be the symphyseal face of the left pubis (female, aged 45+, according to modern standards).
He told the audience that the mastoid and pubis were both left-sided, so this was probably the same individual, which N-FL analysis would determine (Alan Mann quickly corrected both these errors).
For scale he juxtaposed orthodontic wire (0.46 mm) which was anywhere from one-half to 1/4 the size of the markings.

BBC - Kent - Junior Football - Longfield Tigers Reds U8 3-2 Swanscombe Tigers Blacks
The game started off brightly and Longfield pushed forward constantly but were thwarted by some determined Swanscombe defending, it was not all one way traffic and Swanscombe also had a couple of shots fly just wide of the goal.
This seemed to raise the Swanscombe spirits and they poured forward, some great defending from Geroge Green and Ryan Tunnicliffe kept them at bay for a time, then a missed clearance ended up being shot past the keeper again to make it 2-2.
Desperate defending in the last few seconds was required, but Longfield held on to record a fine win against a good Swanscombe team and maintain their 100% league record.
