  Swanston Street Road Safety Audit
In accordance with the task brief prepared by Melbourne City Council, the scope of the road safety audit was to: Conduct an assessment from a road safety perspective of the existing conditions and proposed measures to facilitate the evening access with restrictions along Swanston Street between LaTrobe Street and Flinders Street.
When Swanston Street is open to general traffic, kerbside parking is proposed to be banned for all vehicles between the hours of 7.00pm to 10.00pm, and from 10.00pm to 7.00arn motorists will be able to stop to drop off or pick up passengers.
This practice may be acceptable when Swanston Street is closed to general traffic due to the lower risks, but it is suggested that adequate enforcement of the parking restrictions be undertaken to ensure that the path of through traffic is not unnecessarily obstructed when general traffic is permitted to enter the subject street.
