Pros: The show has reportedly alienated Tori from her parents, which proves that although her father, Aaron, may have been responsible for such TV series as "Charlie's Angels," "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "The Colbys" and, of course, "Beverly Hills, 90210," he must still have a modicum of taste.
But the jokes are crass, obvious and flat, and in the effort to make Spelling dopily endearing, there's a frantic desperation to the proceedings: Even the flop sweat has flop sweat.
This is: She tries to live a normal life, rubbing elbows with "normal" people, normal neuroses and normal pratfalls.

Big Brother was the TV event of 2000.
The set-up--put 10 members of the public in a specially constructed house, keep them under 24-hour surveillance and watch them sweat out the weekly evictions of one of their number, voted by us, the public--was derived from a hugely successful Dutch programme, and gripping, unmissable stuff it proved to be over here, too.
So if you were a fan of big brother or if you never watched it, buy it to see what the big deal was.

St. James Encyclopedia of Pop Culture: Bill Dana
Dana's presence on American TV waned after the retirement of the Jose Jimenez character, though he did continue to play occasional parts in TV series into the 1970s.
He was confused and clueless, but also resourceful and crafty; he had a stereotypically huge family back home, but he supported them faithfully through the sweat of his own brow; he worked as a salaried servant of the wealthier residents of the hotel, but he often proved kinder and smarter than his social superiors.
Though his other achievements were eclipsed by the popularity of his Jose Jimenez, Dana also wrote and produced for the several shows in which Jimenez was featured, and, as a character actor of some note, he played guest roles on a number of series, including Get Smart, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Batman.
