The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences or Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet is a university in Sweden.
Although its head office is locaded in Ultuna, Uppsala, the university has several campuses in different parts of Sweden, the other main facilities being Alnarp in Lomma Municipality, Skara, and Umeå.
The university has four faculties: Faculty of Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Science, Faculty of Natural Resources and Agriculture Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Faculty of Forest Sciences.

Birgitta Ahman is a senior scientist in the Reindeer Husbandry Unit at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala.
Ahman was employed at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 1976, where she worked as an assistant for one of the scientists at the Department of Clinical Nutrition on a project dealing with skeletal development in cattle.

In an article published in the international journal Science, they show how a small molecule that is formed in a plant's leaves is transported to the shoot tips where it induces the formation of flowers.
A research group led by Professor Ove Nilsson at the Umeå Plant Science Centre at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences has now identified a “messenger molecule” that fulfills all the classical properties of Florigen.

The Swedish study was conducted during the years 1992-94, and comprised 15 farms (dairy or beef/sheep) in 1992 and nine farms thereafter.

 A novel approach to postgraduate training in sustainable tropical livestock systems
The attitudes of senior administrators, managers and scientists in developing countries usually reflect this bias, which explains the ready acceptance and promotion of so many livestock development projects that are totally unsuitable for developing countries for socio-economic reasons and are often directly damaging to the environment.
The first group of 13 students arrived in Uppsala, Sweden, in March 1992 from the United Republic of Tanzania (4), Colombia (4), Cambodia (1) and Viet Nam (one each from the Institute of Animal Husbandry, Hanoi, the University of Hue, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City, and the University of Cantho).
One of the stated project objectives is to promote the development of universities and research stations in the participating countries so that the course work may be transferred from Sweden to the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City, and the University of Cantho in the Mekong Delta region of southern Viet Nam.
