  Swfdec 0.3.5 download - Swfdec
Swfdec is a library for rendering Flash® animations and games.
It was originally designed as a basis library for creating Flash plugins for GStreamer, but it is a fully standalone library which only use the libart library for drawing.
Included with swfdec is SDL-based application called swf_play and a Mozilla plug-in that uses swf_play to display SWF animations in a browser window.

Swfdec 0.2.0 is out with many improvements in handling of images in flash movies and better sound support.
Included with swfdec is Gtk+-based application called swf_play and a Mozilla plug-in that uses swf_play to display SWF animations in a browser window.
We have a Screenshots page showing swfdec displaying this and many other flash animations.

The application, swfdec, is a library for rendering Flash® animations and games.
He works on swfdec in bursts, when he's got time, and sometimes progress is slow.
The hardest part about writing swfdec has been that I've had to rewrite major subsections because I never could get a overall picture on how to write a swf decoder until I actually wrote it.

Swfdec looks like it supports Flash 5, which would be nice.
It would probably be more effective to just work on Swfdec to get it working with Flash 6/7 though.
It looks like no one has evaluated swfdec for use on the Zaurus yet, which is hopeful.

It appears to be part of GStreamer, which we intend to support for proprietary codec playback.
As we are going to use Fluendo's MP3 plugin for gstreamer instead of libmad, we cannot use gplflash.
Unfortunately swfdec also depends on libmad at the moment, but at least there is the potential to make it work with the Fluendo plugin.

Oct 27 2004, 12:31 AM Iirc, qflashplayer was just a frontend to the swfplayer lib (which is what I compiled a long time ago, before someone created the qflashplayer frontend).

There have been lots of changes in CVS since the 0.3.4 release, however, they are not included in this release.
Swfdec 0.3.4 follows quickly after the release of 0.3.3.
Changes for 0.3.3 included a complete rewrite of the Mozilla helper player.

i'm not sure about swfdec and it's windowability but gameswf works on windows, although it'd be good to use the same lib as eru.
Here are the Ogre dlls, OgreMain and all that stuff that you might need if it doesn't work with yours.
Here is the OgrePlay directory with everything in it except the SwfDec and any obj or executable files I might have had in there.

The lack of swfdec/arm is blocking gst-plugins, which is blocking some portions of GNOME from entering testing.
Assumed that mozilla is more or less sane in arm now, can swfdec be rescheduled?
The sooner we have it the better, it's been quite hard to get gst-plugins finally in shape.

Noticed tnt blogging about open source flash, due to a Slashdot story about gplflash.
I hope as many people as possible look into swfdec instead, as its LGPL licensed (as opposed to the GPL of gplflash, and David have been working almost fulltime on it for some time now to make it really good.
Also due to the optional GStreamer relationship we should be able to offer good mp3 and flash video support down the road too, in a way shipable for distributions.

Anybody else ever hear about this swfdec, and why it doesn't work with Flash?
