An Affiliate Member of Swim Ireland is any body or association, whether incorporated or not, which specialises in the operation, teaching and/or management of swimming, diving, water polo and associated disciplines in Ireland, which is not a Club which is affiliated to the Company (pursuant to the Articles of Association).

Ageist Swim Ireland proposal to ban over 70s board members: Age Action Ireland has condemned a proposal to be considered by Swim Ireland which would ban a person becoming a member of the board if they are over 70.
This will be considered at an extraordinary general meeting of Swim Ireland next December 4th in Loughrea, Co Galway.
The Leinster branch of Swim Ireland is to discuss this proposal, among many others, at an explanatory meeting on Monday November 22.

1.1 The name of the Club shall be Dublin University Swimming Club, hereinafter referred to as "The Club", and may be abbreviated to D.U.S.C. The colours of the Club shall be bottle-green, emerald green and silver.
3.2 The rules of D.U.C.A.C., Swim Ireland, the Irish Water Polo Association and the Irish University Swimming Association shall be observed in all swimming, water polo and water safety competitions and in the general running of the Club.

Swim Ireland had its funding cut by the Irish government during the summer because of "mismanagement" (there was no CEO) and it also had to pay for horrible abuse cases that happened a few years ago - that cost millions.
As someone who was involved in Irish swimming for 20 years or so (as a swimmer, not organising) I can tell you not to get your hopes up regarding a new organising body.
In my experience Irish swimming has been beset by petty arguments between officials for many a year, so I'd be surprised if a new body wasn't afflicted by the same thing.
