		This was a key capability for SWITCHBOARD which was lacking in other telephone interfaces: two callers on the line with the Robotoperator simultaneously could become one two-way telephone conversation by connecting the Transmit (T) side of one to the Receive (R) side of the other.
		The unusual requirement of SWITCHBOARD is that the computer coordinate the two calls, cause them to be connected together at a certain point, and start and end recording of the two talkers' messages at the same time.
		Since the SWITCHBOARD recordings included the silent times when the other speaker is talking, 2-msec chunks were dropped fairly often but not necessarily symmetrically, resulting in changes in the synchrony between the two sides of some conversations.
