Sword and Sorceress series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sword and Sorceress series is a series of fantasy anthologies edited by Marion Zimmer Bradley.
As she explained in the foreword to the first volume, she created the anthology to redress the lack of strong female protagonists in the sub- genre of sword and sorcery.
At the time, most female characters in sword and sorcery were little more than stock damsels in distress, or pawns who were distributed at the conclusion of the story as "bad-conduct prizes" (MZB's term) for the male protagonists.

Bradley was the editor of the long-running Sword and Sorceress anthology series, which encouraged submissions of fantasy stories featuring original and non-traditional heroines from young and upcoming authors.
Ms Bradley was editing the final Sword and Sorceress manuscript up until the week of her death.
She created the planet of Darkover as a setting for her own fantasy series, writing a large number of Darkover stories as a solo author and later collaborating with other authors to produce Darkover anthologies, where once again she encouraged story submissions from unpublished authors.

He-Man finds no trouble with fighting the horde or horde troopers but there mysterious force captain is a puzzle to him, especially since the sword the sorceress gave him always seems to glow when she is near.
Of course not everything is perfect in the secret of the sword since it’s a 5 part episode long arc and not really a made to be a movie the story is episodic.

The amazon novel would be taken more seriously than it deserves, as absurdly as the cyberpunks have been taken seriously, if the amazon works were also predominantly masculinist in their origin.
In John Norman's Tarnsman of Gof, first of a long series of heroic fantasy bondage novels, the amazon genuinely — & unbelievably — seeks to be tamed & chained, so that she is no longer amazonian in any regard.
Though typical of the genre in that she is travelling through patriarchal lands, Raven expresses a world-view radically opposed to the, for her, alien attitudes encountered in male-dominated countries.
