Although predicting the popularity of a new TV series is a risky business, most analysts of this season's incoming programs generally agree that one show most likely to succeed is ABC's new detective series, Vega$.
Its main character, played by TV Showtime cover boy Robert Urich, is a ruggedly handsome, unflappable private eye whose battleground is gaudy Las Vegas.
Among Urich's close associates on the series are Tony Curtis, in a supporting role as a multi-millionaire hotel and casino owner, and Phyllis Davis, a divorcee who works the chorus line when not doing secretarial leg work for Urich.

Fujisawa-sensei and Shayla-Shayla, the series' two most popular characters, provide a great deal of energy and comedy, while Jinnai Katsuhiko makes a perfectly detestable villain (and a very memorable one, considering his somewhat limited screentime).
The series ended right around the time the inspiration seemed to be about to run out; Galus was disposed of too quickly and clumsily, and overall, the series was becoming a little bit too videogamish.
The entire second OAV series (which I don't think amounted to more than 4 episodes) felt like a retread, with the new villain a poor imitation of Ifurita and Shayla-Shayla, and the series as a whole lacking energy or any real reason to exist.
