  Swordsman II
Brigitte plays a heartless swordsman who changes into a swordswoman with feelings but whose change came too late for her to receive affection from anyone.
Although Brigitte never truly fight with fists or weapons, her fighting is pretty convincing even though it was done with needles and threads with a couple of flicks with her wrists.
Brigitte caused panic during the filming of "Swordsman 2" when she could not come up from the water for a while when her wig got 'caught' to the cage that 'holds' her under the water.

The swordsman of the title, a man named Ling (Jet Li), along with his trusted group of fellow warriors are on the hunt for a mystical scroll which will give its bearer near-unlimited power.
The main reason SWORDSMAN II is such an accomplishment is because it succeeds in capturing the spirit of the Jiang Hu in a way that few other films can manage, and in conveying the incredible powers that the martial arts masters of wu xia fiction are said to have possessed.
The main aspect in which SWORDSMAN 2 is truly superlative is the depiction of the fanstastic martial arts power of the wu xia fighters in Jin Yong's novel.

 subway cinema | swordsman 2 (1992)
CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON for grown ups, SWORDSMAN II is a perfectly pitched pop opera wherein Jet Li must endure the slings and arrows (and flesh-shredding hooks, and throwing stars, and lethal needlepoint) of outrageous fortune as he seeks to retire from the martial world with his Wah Mountain brothers (and sister).
Famed at swordplay, the Wah Mountain school was put through the grinder in SWORDSMAN I and now they make for the hills, hoping to leave their legendary blades behind them as they become monks.
Tsui Hark brings his high polish and technical virtuosity to harness Ching Siu-tung's straight-from-the-id filmmaking and the result is a tortured, Wagnerian conflagration that unspools like a beautiful nightmare unfolding across a bleak wasteland of falling leaves, sprawling military camps, wide pampas plains, and ramshackle barracks hidden in the forests.

THE ORIGINAL SWORDSMAN reviewed by Jonathan Marshall
Swordsman plays heavily on the pathos of such a depressing, 'post-Confucian' metaphysics, but it is not a deep, or even particularly serious film.
Swordsman is therefore a fun romp, as well as a piece of gentle moralism.
Swordsman is not as stylish as white-hot classics like Wicked City (Taiwan) or Saviour of the Soul, or but it is easily comparable to Jet Li's less exalted films, and is really more successful on its own modest terms than the rather overblown pretentiousness of the Once Upon a Time in China series.
