Avengers (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marvel Comics' original answer to the Justice League — a group of already established superheroes — was to create the Fantastic Four, a team of original characters who had never previously appeared.
As stated in the preamble that graced the top of the first page of the comic throughout the 1970s, the Avengers' purpose is to "fight the foes no single super hero could withstand." To that end, the roster of "Earth's Mightest Heroes" has featured humans, nonhumans, mechanical heroes, former villains and supernatural beings.
A newcomer to comics, Pérez's early work was strongly reminiscent of Kirby's, and he would go on to become one of the most popular comic book artists of the next 15 years.

Battle Chasers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Battle Chasers is a fantasy comic book series by Joe Madureira, launched in April 1998.
It was one of the most popular comics in the late nineties, but suffered from extreme lateness, with an average of about half a year between issues.
The last issue, #9, was published in September 2001 and had a cliffhanger-ending that never was concluded, as #10 (scheduled for November 2001) was never released and Joe Madureira left the comic industry to pursue a career as a video game designer.

 Comics in Thailand and Indonesia
Comics Quest sells for 45 baht, nine times the price of popular Thai comics and is even more expensive than comics of Japanese origin, which sell for 35 baht.
These comic books first appeared in the 1950s but were adversely affected by American comics and disappeared in the 1980s.
It is interesting that many of the heroes in Indonesian comics have strange appearances; a hero who is a blind swordsman; a hero who is dumb when awake but tough in his sleep; a boy (resembling the rental book version of Kitaro) learning martial arts, who is ugly but not a villain.

Shintaro Katsu, the original blind swordsman, died in 1997, but Takeshi "Beat" Kitano resurrects the Japanese cult character that appeared in 26 films and countless TV shows from 1962 to 1989.
In the traditional Japanese style of blood splattering with cartoon-like exaggeration to a soundtrack reminiscent of the silent- movie era, Zatoichi battles the town’s controlling gang with the help of two geishas who are seeking revenge.
The labyrinthine plot and nonlinear storytelling is confusing, and the exciting action scenes and comic relief are few and far between.

Decided to become a comics writer while in junior high school, and bamboozled my pal Scott McCloud into doing some fan-created comics with me (me writing, him drawing), thus figuring out the mechanics of how to go about writing comics, and changing the course of Scott's life utterly in the process.
My major concerns about comics are not creative -- I think there are more good comics being published today than at most times in the past -- so it shouldn't be any surprise that my answers are more about business than writing and drawing.
Comics need to reach out in all directions, and I don't think one distributor, with no serious competition, is the way to accomplish that regardless of anyone's intentions.

 Comics Should Be Good
Comic companies, however, did NOT like to pay this fee, so they would not start a new volume, but rather simply change the title of the book to the new feature (as a "#1 issue" did not have the same panache back then) when the book changed features.
Comics are perfectly suited for telling all kinds of stories, and that's why eventually I started buying other kinds of those comics.
Here's a thought to address that: Don't publish a comic in which a defenseless pregnant woman is murdered after it was revealed she was raped years ago.

Ian Watson - Why the Swordsman was an Avenger
The Swordsman is surely unique in comics in having his origin published and his secret identity revealed for the first time fifteen years after he permanently died.
Yet a chance involvement with a servant who was the butt of his father’s brutality led young Duquesne to a forbidden meeting of the Communist rebellion, and at that meeting he found their doctrines and ideals filling a void in his life and became converted to their cause.
Somehow the groups the Swordsman found himself part of, the Mandarin’s minions, the Black Widow’s operatives, the Lethal Legion, were poor substitutes for the noble fellowship of heroes he had glimpsed once before he had failed himself and them.

As the new Swordsman discovers Baron Strucker is rather difficult to kill, he soon finds himself coming to the villain's defence, as a raging Wolverine arrives to kill Strucker, and if the villain is killed a deadly virus will be released in the middle of New York City.
As the Swordsman battles Wolverine, we see the Thunderbolts are trying to enjoy some downtime, but this comes to a abrupt end when the city is attacked by a rampaging sea monster.
I mean the abrupt arrival of Wolverine was a bit confusing, and the intensity level could've been higher, as the battle is lacking any close in shots that would've done a better job of conveying the emotions of the combatants.
