Named after Lord Sydenham, Sydenham (2003 population approximately one thousand) is a small town situated at the west end of Sydenham Lake and located north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Frontenac Provincial Park is found just north of Sydenham in the shield rock and sits atop the Frontenac Axis, a part of the shield that extends south and eventually crosses the St. Lawrence River.
Sydenham once held the township offices for Loughborough Township, but after the neighbouring townships amalgamated, it is now the seat for the Township of South Frontenac.

As you enter the village of Sydenham, watch for the another Park sign on your right (1.9 km).
You will go though Sydenham crossing a small bridge over the Millhaven creek and passing a grocery and a beer store on your right as you leave the village.

 Historical Plaques of Frontenac
It was enlarged in 1841 to serve as the vice-regal residence during the period when Kingston was the capital of the united Province of Canada.
Devoted largely because of self-interest to promoting the colony's territorial expansion, Frontenac established a series of fortified fur-trading posts extending into the interior of North America, the first of which, Fort Frontenac, was constructed near here in 1673.
Reappointed seven years later, Frontenac successfully defended New France from attacks by the Iroquois and English and continued, until his death in Quebec, to expand the western fur trade.
