		Sydkraft filed a complaint with the EU Commission last year, arguing that the government was unfairly favouring its main competitor, state-owned power producer Vattenfall AB.
		Sydkraft shares were trading flat at 152 crowns in early afternoon trade in Stockholm, against a 1.2 percent rise in the OMX stock index.
		Sydkraft is also awiting the outcome of negotiations with the state on compensation for Barseback.

	Sweden's Sydkraft, Danish power firms join forces
		Stockholm, Nov 4: Swedish power group Sydkraft said on Wednesday it had signed a deal with three Danish power companies to form a joint venture for distribution of electricity, gas and district heating.
		Sydkraft, Sweden's largest private power producer, said the company's main target would be Denmark, but that it aimed to expand.

	Fairness across Borders
		From the period when Sydkraft (the utility that built and operates Barsebäck) presented the plans of a nuclear power station in 1968 to granting planning permission in 1970, Danish policy makers raised no objections.
		Sydkraft completed modi-fications to the filtering systems, and the reactors went back on line in January 1993.
		But as no complaints were raised, it is hard to see why Sydkraft should not have built the plant where they did.
