Length 170 ft. Entered Port Jackson Heads on the evening of 23 October 1857, but lost steerage way in light winds and was forced to anchor; rockets were fired to attract attention to her plight, and the steamer Williams coming in from Newcastle tried unsuccessfully to take her in tow.
When she was finally back safely inside Sydney Heads the passengers praised the conduct of the captain and crew, also expressing their amazement at the seaworthiness of the ship, which had taken a terrible battering in losing its deck cargo of fruit and nine of the eleven horses originally loaded at Sydney.
She was on a journey from the Hawkesbury River to Sydney with grain and made Sydney Heads in a leaking condition.
