Sydney has at present three main subway lines; a fourth is currently under construction.
They painted some colourful and rather nasty looking graffiti on one of the walls separating the bomb shelter chambers, to serve as a backdrop to the climax of the episode (the rescue of a boy lost in a storm water drain).
As well as the St. James subway tunnels, there are several disused tunnels and platforms on the Bondi Junction line, which like St. James station provided for the possibility four tunnels even though only two were ever built.

Milk are a Melbourne based group whose live performance features songs that take you from the streets of Melbourne to the subways of New York, with cheeky cabaret, finger lickin' country, original folk tunes and bluesy gospel covers.

But once we got into Sydney proper, we drove off to the centre of town to the Mercure where CJ was staying.
Man they have some really long pedestrian subways in Sydney; so long infact that in this particular subway there were two buskers who weren’t within earshot of each other.

Parts of the peninsula, or "spit," haven't been made park-like yet, and I believe the spit is still being extended.
The bins around Sydney stations (subways) were also removed for similar reasons.
The effect of this is quite sad as people are continuously leaving their rubbish behind, thus creating more work for the station staff.
