Syed Kalbe Hussain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maulana Syed Kalbe Hussain Naqvi - nicknamed "Kabban" was a mujtahid from Lucknow, India who preached Shia Islam and came from a family of scholars known as "Khandaan-e-Ijtehad", notably Syed Dildar Ali, also known as Ghufran Ma'ab.
The word "Kalb" means "dog" so his name "Kalbe Hussain" means "Dog of Hussain", Hadrat Imam Hussain being the grandson of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam.
His grandson, Syed Kalbe Jawad (son of Syed Kalbe Abid) is also a scholar and the chief of the Shia population in Lucknow, India.
