Several metallurgical processes require such heat that they could only be developed after the invention of the bellows.
See also sylphon for uses of metal bellows in experimental physics and engineering.
In musical instruments, such as the reed organ, the bellows is often employed as a substitute or regulator for air pressure provided by the human lungs.

An integrated valve of tire with pressure indicator (see patent USA #4 793 177) is also known – a prototype, where the valve together with the pressure indicator is placed in the nipple of the tire.
Such a valve consists of a body, with a sensor of inner pressure of tire fixed to it, a sensitive element of which appears to be the sylphon, inside of which a calibrated spring is placed.
The deformation of sylphon results in the shift of drive rod in axial direction along the axle, and the connecting mechanism among the drive rod and the cylinder ensures the transformation of the forward movement into the rotating one of the cylinder.

 Weather Journal: Tap That Barometer
The cell, known as a sylphon cell is a hollow capsule made of thin corrugated metal from which the air has been removed.
When the air pressure outside the cell changes, the cell surface bends inward or outward depending on how the air pressure is changing.
This motion is transmitted to the scale dial of the barometer by a series of springs, levers and gears that amplify the changes in the sylphon cell so that they can be easily seen.

There was also Freda Harper, a North Hills mother accompanying her critically ill four-year-old son, Ricky; he’d been undergoing treatment in a hospital in Philadelphia, where the flight originated.
Four passengers had tickets all the way to Huntsville, with two pilots and two stewardesses, but most, 31 in all, were set to get off at McGhee Tyson.
