 | | Perhaps Sydney's Sympathie Grill is just what this country needs to pull us punters out of the current addiction to cute novelty pop, where success depends on whether or not you have the word "Teenager" in your song title. |
 | | Their use of a strong tribal beat, synthesized background effects and harmonic chanting in "Travelade" is extremely effective, but the interesting overlapping vocals in "all you can eat" is ironically a little hard for the ears to stomach. |
 | | Opening and closing tracks are definite strong points though, with "Karaoke Mind" being the EP's highlight and "Ex Pat" a fitting close to Sympathie Grill's first, and hopefully not final, foray into music. |
