Simple API for XML - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A parser which implements SAX (ie, a SAX Parser) handles XML information as a single stream of data.
This is attributed to the fact that a SAX stream has a minuscule memory footprint compared to that of a fully constructed DOM tree.
The SAX parser is implemented as an event-driven model in which the programmer provides callback methods which are invoked by the parser as part of its traversal of the XML document.

The avida system is based on concepts similar to those employed by the tierra program, that is to say it is a population of self-reproducing strings with a Turing-complete genetic basis subjected to Poisson-random mutations.
By studying this system, one can examine evolutionary adaptation, general traits of living systems (such as self-organization), and other issues pertaining to theoretical or evolutionary biology and dynamic systems.
It integrates procedures and continuations into a message-based distributed framework that allows any Scheme object (including code vectors) to be sent and received in a message.

 CIM MPSG
In a distributed control system, control is exercised by passing messages between controllers and by performing controller tasks.
The system state can only be determined as a function of all of the individual part states.
The input to the MPSG is generated through messages from other controllers in the system and the output consists of messages sent to other controllers.

A hybrid system is a system with both discrete behavior and continuous behavior.
The inputs and outputs of such systems can be abstractly viewed as parameterized action labels, that is, as invocations of methods with dynamically created object instances and other complex data structures as parameters and return values.
However, chosing the optimal integration and test strategy (in terms of total duration, cost or product quality) is not an easy task, because of the effect of the different aspects of an integration and test strategy on each other.

A tree-parser is a parser that scans the AST for patterns.
As expected, these classes are the parser and the exception thrown in case of a parsing errors.
On every reduction, the parser creates a new instance for the reduced alternative, it pops the elements off the parse stack and attaches them to the new instance, then it pushes the instance back onto the parse stack.

REX: XML Shallow Parsing with Regular Expressions
The combination of the initial shallow parser of XML documents together with the secondary parsing operations suggests a third form of XML processor API (application programmer interface) to supplement the event-based APIs such as those based on SAX and the tree-based APIs such as those based on expat.
An ASCII-based automaton without counting is a deterministic finite automaton over a character set that includes the 7-bit ASCII set as a subset and meets the constraints that (a) all super-ASCII transitions are total, and (b) all super-ASCII acceptance states include a super-ASCII self transition.
In essence, the automaton is being applied to the octet stream of the UTF-8 document which is not necessarily the same as the character stream.

README - PXP, the XML parser for O'Caml   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
PXP means "Polymorphic XML parser" and emphasizes its most useful property: that the API is polymorphic and can be configured such that different objects are used to store different types of elements.
The parser is simple to call, usually only one statement (function call) is sufficient to parse an XML document and to represent it as object tree.
Independent of this, it is possible to choose the encoding of the internal representation of the tree nodes; the parser automatically converts the input text to this encoding.

A multi-span framework was recently proposed to integrate the various constraints, both local and global, that are present in the language.
In this paper, we describe a prototype spoken language system that loosely integrates a speech recognition component based on hidden Markov models with a constraint dependency grammar (CDG) parser using a word graph to pass sentence candidates between the two modules.
This loosely coupled system was able to improve the sentence selection accuracy and concept accuracy over the level achieved by the acoustic module with a stochastic grammar.

Lark was a pure deterministic finite automaton (DFA) parser, with a little teeny state stack.
DFA-driven parsers are a common enough design pattern, although I think Lark is the only example in the XML space.
There are well-known parser generators such as yacc, GNU bison, and javacc, usually used in combination with lexical scanners such as flex so that you can write your grammar in terms of tokens not characters.

CCured is a system that addresses this class of bugs by guarding potentially unsafe memory accesses with run-time safety checks.
Our prototype system is built on our Harmonia language-based framework, an integrated set of language-based tools and services that provides an annotated structural representation of programs, together with an embedded history of changes and support for incomplete or incorrect versions during the development process.
CCured is a program transformation system that adds memory safety and type safety guarantees to C programs by verifying statically that memory errors cannot occur and by inserting run-time checks where static verification is insufficient.

Metropolis heterogeneous system design framework has within it a metamodel language which can be used to unambiguously model other models of computation.
Fundamental mode assumption has made it possible to design hardware circuits from VHDL or Verilog, so that the functional equivalence of the circuits generated from the same high level specification is well defined and relatively easy to verify.
The goal of this project is to automatically generate these automata and the associated datapath for a given meta-model netlist.

A sxa Parser handles XML information as a stream and isunidirectional, i.e.
it cannot renegotiate a node without first having to establish a new handle to the document and reparse. With that proviso in mind, however, the sxa parser, since it works in stream mode, is unquestionably faster than its sibling the DOM parser.
The sxa parser is implemented as an event-driven model in which the programmer provides callback methods which are invoked by the parser as part of its traversal of the XMLdocument.
