Information Security Glossary - System Testing   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
In a general sense, the term 'system testing' refers to the testing of the system in artificial conditions to ensure that it should perform as expected and as required.
System Testing should ensure that each function of the system works as expected and that any errors (bugs) are noted and analysed.
System Testing does not concern itself with the functionality of the system and whether this is appropriate to meet the needs of the users.

Voting System Standards, Testing Standards, System Level Integration Testing
The system level qualification tests are conducted using the version of the system as it is intended to be sold by the vendor and delivered to jurisdictions.
Additionally, should components of the system be modified or replaced during the qualification testing process, the ITA shall require the vendor conduct a new “build” of the system to ensure that the qualified executable release of the system is built from tested components.
As new threats to voting systems are discovered during their operation, or the operation of other computer-based systems that use technologies comparable to those of voting systems, ITAs shall expand the tests used for system security to address the threats that are applicable to a particular design of voting system.

System testing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
System testing falls within the scope of Black box testing, and as such, should require no knowledge of the inner design of the code or logic.
System testing is a more limiting type of testing; it seeks to detect defects both within the "inter-assemblages" and also within the system as a whole.
System testing is actually done to the entire system against the Functional Requirement Specification(s) (FRS) and/or the System Requirement Specification (SRS).

We agree that creating such a test scenario is not a simple task, and to date no one or organization has started on the task.
End to end testing to one millisecond resolution requires that the clocks in both IED #1 and IRD #2 be synchronized to ± 0.1 ms, a difficult task in itself.
The test method is straightforward, and not dependent on any assumptions of LAN traffic or LAN type (shared or switched hub).

 Integration Testing
The technique used for fl box testing of these intermediate components is the same as the fl box unit testing technique, and can often be based on the test cases identified for the fl box unit tests.
If the system architecture differs from the standard system architecture for the installation, it may be necessary to test the interactions between system software components, such as the TP monitor and the DBMS or a new TP scheduling system.
Once again, Integration Testing must verify that invocation of the global from each transaction works as specified, that appropriate data is sent (and received by the global component), and that when global processing is completed, control is returned to the context from which the global was invoked.

Unit testing vs. system testing ...   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
System tests are generally tests of the system as seen by the different actors (users, other systems to which we integrate and such) - kinda like fl-box tests of the whole system.
The system tests are used to verify that we deliver the correct functionality and we would preferably model the tests after the use-cases.
The "system tests" (or functional tests or acceptance tests) are not usually performed by the coder but by the requirements people or their helpers.

How You Can Help Improve the Quality of Novell's Software
Some of you may have participated in beta testing our software before, but many are not aware how helpful it can be when customers not only install and configure out products, but rigorously test them to see if they can find any problems.
Last but not least, everything has to be tested for backwards compatibility to ensure it all works with the multitude of older versions of the software that are still being used by customers.
And software testing in a lab environment is likely to suffer from the same problems as software developed in a strictly academic setting.

Bench vs. System Testing of Watercooling Components   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
With ‘System Testing’ the CPU is used, with one of a variety of software programs intended to maximally load it, as the heat source; while the other parts of the WCing system are selected by the tester and remain unchanged throughout the test series.
Such is a testing activity as contrasted with a computer activity; the requisite knowledge base is different as are the activities themselves.
Comparative ‘Bench Testing’ results can be directly utilized to identify a candidate component to improve a particular system characteristic (aka remove a ‘bottleneck’); and are really the only type of data useful to a waterblock designer.

A "septic system," also referred to as a private, on-site waste disposal system, receives waste water and solids from a Building's plumbing facilities (bathrooms, kitchens, shower, laundry), treats, and then disposes of the effluent from this waste, by permitting it to absorb into soils at the property.
Signs that there may be old systems at a property might come from anecdotal evidence (ask a neighbor, ask the local septic installing or service companies), or visual evidence such as seeing abandoned waste pipes at basement or crawl space walls or floors.
If the system has not been serviced recently, limited but important additional information regarding the condition of the system may be obtained by having a septic contractor open, clean, and inspect the septic tank (and distribution boxes).
