In Systema, I notice that most of the experienced students there took their ushiro ukemi by letting themselves straight down on one leg, with the other leg straight out in front of them until their rear end was just near the floor.
In the end, the Systema seminar with Vasiliev was excellent, and I recommend it to anyone, regardless of their level of martial arts' experience.

Systema's thought is that the world of people is much different from animals, therefore oriental arts (with any basis on animal movement) do not comply to human movement patterns.
Systema also takes into account "less then perfect conditions" for example we would be put in uncomfortable possitions and have to try to defend the same type of attacks as if everything was normal, It takes into account not being able to use an arm or leg, or if your hands are tied together.

Kadochnikova Systema, was developed by Alexi Kadochnikov, an engineer, by looking at human anatomy and applying physics to the biomechanical structure as the primary goal.
If you look at Kadochnikova Systema, the two *look* similar and share many principals, but functionally, Kadochnikovs system is very hard and is based on the sciences of biomechanics, physics, etc. Very secular in what it does and it doesnt play around.
Systema Kadochnikova (or as Powell calls it - "K-Sys") is based on body dynamics, biomechanics, and the destruction of the human body from a perspective similar to taking down a building or a bridge - find its weak points and break it down from there.
