CMM: Transmission Electron Microscopy   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Materials for TEM must be specially prepared to thicknesses which allow electrons to transmit through the sample, much like light is transmitted through materials in conventional optical microscopy.
The energy of the electrons in the TEM determine the relative degree of penetration of electrons in a specific sample, or alternatively, influence the thickness of material from which useful information may be obtained.
Because of the high spatial resolution obtained, TEMs are often employed to determine the detailed crystallography of fine-grained, or rare, materials.

Kemet.org Names of Netjer : Tem   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Tem (Atum, Temu) - "The Complete" The most abstract Name of Netjer; and indeed, in the myth cycle of An (GR Heliopolis), the Netjer from Whom all Names emanate; a very similar concept in another African religion would be Olodumare of Ifa (Yoruba/Nigeria).
By one of two methods Tem is said to have created both all the other Names of Netjer and all creation; either through masturbation and self-impregnation, as "that Great He-She"; or through tears, mucus or other bodily fluids.
In later times, Tem assumes the symbolism of the setting sun, receiving the Boat of Ra as it descends to the western horizon.

UNECE - Transport Division - Trans-European North-South Motorway Project (TEM)
UN/ECE TEM Project is a sub-regional co-operation established in 1977 by the Governments of the Central, Eastern and South Eastern European countries at the initial financial support of UNDP and the co-ordination and support of UN/ECE acting as the executing agency for the project and is running since then in various Phases and Cycles.
TEM Project is the backbone of Pan -European Road Corridors in CEE as well as of TINA exercise and represents an important instrument of institutional inter-country co-operation and co-ordinated actions of the CE and SE Europe playing a serious and concrete role in the future European Transport Integration process.
Its long, lasting, flexible, effective and self sustainable structure, in combination with the strong desire and commitment with the project of the country members, are characterising TEM as a unique European instrument, that effectively assisted towards the integration and harmonisation of European transport, and may continue doing so in the future.

 TEM Notes #1
This was because the extreme conditions inside the TEM (high vacuum, intense heat generated by the beam of electrons, depth to which electrons can penetrate a specimen, etc.) were thought to be incompatible with wet, thick, biological specimens.
To be of use in a TEM a stain must have the ability to stop or strongly deflect the electrons of the electron beam so that they do not contribute to the final image.
In a conventional TEM the scattered electrons (both from elastic and inelastic collisions) serve to degrade the final image as they strike the recording surface and cannot be distinguished from nonscattered electrons.

Transmission Electron Microscope   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
TEMs are patterned after Transmission Light Microscopes and will yield similar information.
A projector shines a beam of light through (transmits) the slide, as the light passes through it is affected by the structures and objects on the slide.
TEMs work the same way except that they shine a beam of electrons (like the light) through the specimen(like the slide).

 Terrestrial Ecosystem Model
The Terrestrial Ecosystem Model (TEM) is a process-based ecosystem model that describes carbon and nitrogen dynamics of plants and soils for terrestrial ecosystems of the globe.
The TEM uses spatially referenced information on climate, elevation, soils, vegetation and water availability as well as soil- and vegetation-specific parameters to make monthly estimates of important carbon and nitrogen fluxes and pool sizes of terrestrial ecosystems.
NOTE: When TEM is run in "equilibrium" mode, all carbon and nitrogen fluxes within terrestrial ecosystems are assumed to be balanced and annual carbon and nitrogen inputs to the ecosystem are equal to annual losses.

The Transmission Electron Microscope   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
The transmission electron microscope (TEM) operates on the same basic principles as the light microscope but uses electrons instead of light.
TEMs use electrons as "light source" and their much lower wavelength makes it possible to get a resolution a thousand times better than with a light microscope.
Instead of glass lenses focusing the light in the light microscope, the TEM uses electromagnetic lenses to focus the electrons into a very thin beam.

Proof TEM Image was Hoaxed   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
The blocky artifacts in the TEM image can be seen to line up clearly with the x and y axis of the pixels, strongly suggesting that they are image processing artifacts, and not structures on or beneath the surface of Mars.
The TEM image has very little detail, greyscale levels are very flat over large areas compared to the NASA image, which exhibits a level of detail that one would expect in a daytime IR image of Mars.
This shows definitively that the TEM image has been hoaxed, and proves that the blocky artifacts are clearly part of the image processing applied in creating the hoax, and not buried structures on Mars as claimed by Richard Hoagland.
