T-38 Talon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Northrop T-38 Talon is a US-built supersonic jet trainer for military pilots and NASA astronauts.
Citing fuel and maintenance costs, the Thunderbirds aerobatic display team of the U.S. Air Force used the T-38 Talon from 1974 until 1983 when it was replaced by the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Most T-38s built were of the T-38A variant, but the USAF also had a small number of aircraft that had been converted for weapons training.

T-38 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Infantry battalions were each issued 38 T-38s, with 50 being designated for each airborne armored battalions.
However, the thin armor and single machinegun armament made the tank of only limited use in combat while the lack of radios in most T-38s was a serious limitation in a recon vehicle.
The T-38 amphibious scout tank was a Soviet light amphibious tank that saw service in World War II.

 FlightSim.Com Review: FSD T-38 Talon
The T-38 Talon has the the distinction of being the world's first supersonic aircraft to be built as a trainer.
The lines of the original plane have been captured very well and while it is clear that FSD haven't quite put as much effort into it as they might have done had it been payware, the T-38 is very realistic indeed, especially once you appreciate the level of detail in the animations.
The first hull was delivered to the US air force in '61 and Northrop were able to claim that every single plane in the F5/T-38 series was delivered not only on time, but at or below target cost, which must make the line pretty much unique.

Sword’s T-38 is still not on sale in North America, but I have been waiting so long for a Talon that I had to order it from halfway around the world, NKR Models of Australia.
The Talon is a relatively simple aircraft, and Sword chose to depict the aircraft with few well-molded injection parts and many small resin parts for details.
Opening the box, I was greeted with the sight of one large and one small injected sprues molded in grey plastic, a clear sprue and a small bag of resin parts.

Warbird Alley: Northrop T-38 Talon Pilot Report / Flight Report
More than 50,000 student pilots have received their Air Force wings in the Talon and, with the old airframes soon to be refurbished and reborn as the T-38C Talon II, many thousands more will get to experience the thrill of riding the "White Rocket" in the decades ahead.
Because of this unusual stall trait, student pilots in the Talon are given plenty of instruction in recognizing and recovering from the approach-to-stall.
New Talon pilots must develop a feel for this phenomenon, and must cross-check their airspeed, AOA and Vertical Speed carefully to avoid developing a dangerous sink rate during the final turn.
