The Taito Project -  Software Developers
In the 1980's Taito was perhaps the biggest arcade manufacturer in the world, and had contracts with Kaneko, Seibu, Seta, SNK, Technos, Toaplan, UPL, etc. It was Taito who manufactured several games developed by these small, newly created, game companies; even Data East and Nintendo made games for Taito at one time or another.
Many games that are known to have the "(c) Taito" text on the title screen aren't even mentioned on this section, this section is designed to identify games, that are proven to have been manufactured by Taito in their country of origin, but were not developed by Taito.
Taito is still involved in the manufacture of other SNK games of the time, but those are no longer "Taito games" and are not included on the Taito Project database.
