  Manga and Anime: Takahashi Rumiko
Takahashi Rumiko, one of Japan's most talented (and prolific) manga-ka, several years ago (1995) sold her 100 millionth copy of her work.
Takahashi's works range from slapstick comedy and heartbreaking romance to science fiction and supernatural horror (sometimes all at the same time).
The most appealing part of Takahashi's skill is her ability to bring her characters to life; the reader feels that he actually knows them and can sympathize (and empathize) with them.

  Rumic World: Biography
Should Takahashi try her hand at comics for a few years and find no success, the job market would not hire someone her age when there were other younger people who were just as qualified.
Unfortunately Takahashi had trouble meeting deadlines early on and the publication was frequently interrupted until 1980, when she finally found her niche and began publishing with regularity.
Takahashi had a mass of ideas she wanted to get on paper in the early years of her career, and the 1980s are marked by the dozens of short stories she created.

Instead, Takahashi led the audience on a refreshingly - and sometimes startlingly - honest trip through the reasons for the creation of a sequel to Katamari Damacy, the creative process for both games, and his thoughts on the place of videogames in people's lives.
He doodled on the projector screen throughout, his fertile imagination clearly not resting for a moment, but while his speech was laced with playful humour, Takahashi is clearly a man not content with the situation in the videogames industry at the moment.

Takahashi, the creative brain behind Namco's sleeper Katamari Damacy, addressed a range of topics both serious and lighthearted in nature, always speaking with a distinct air of humility.

And although he admitted that Katamari Damacy "is not that sophisticated a game," Takahashi qualified, "I do not mean simple is best." In fact, Takahashi claimed that the simplicity of his design was more the result of necessity, lamenting that he lacks the skills to explore more complex subjects such as love.
