  Takanori Yoshioka - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Takanori Yoshioka was a Japanese athlete who jointly held the world record for the mens 100 metre sprint, recording a time of 10.3 seconds in Japan in 1935.
Takanori is the only person from Japan, and indeed all of Asia, to have held the world record in this event.
Takanori finished sixth in the final of the 100 metre event at the 1932 Summer Olympics, the first Japanese man to reach an Olympic final, and the last until Ito Koji achieved the feat in at the 1992 games.

Kintetsu Buffaloes first baseman Yuji Yoshioka and backup rightfielder Akihito Moritani each drove in a pair of runs and starting rightfielder Koichi Isobe went yard to support a fine effort from starter Hiroshi Takamura and five relievers in a 5-1 triumph over the Chiba Lotte Marines Saturday at Osaka Dome.
Yoshioka hammered a shot into the leftfield corner and the two men managed to tour the bases to the plate and it was 3-1 Kintetsu.

Suetsugu has shifted his focus to the 100m since his 200m success in Paris in August last year when he became the first Japanese to reach either of the sprint finals at any world championships.
Takanori Yoshioka was the only Japanese man to make a sprint final at the Olympics when he finished sixth in the 100m at the 1932 Los Angeles Games.
Suetsugu ran in the 100m at Grand Prix events in Britain and Croatia in late June.

One out later, Yoshioka rifled a Kobayashi delivery 440 feet into the upper reaches of the leftfield seats to enlarge the gap with Orix to 4-1.
