This could not be further from the truth and it is a cheap attempt to discredit people who are in favor of the "evolution" of professional wrestling.
The in-ring wrestling is what makes professional wrestling what it is, without it we would just be watching another sitcom, or action adventure show.
The cartoony gimmicks of the early 90's turned me away from wrestling, but when I accidentally tuned in to WCW Nitro one night in '96, and saw a menacing (and familiar) looking gang of thugs trying to "take over" the show, I was intrigued and once again hooked.
