Tales of Phantasia was originally released in Japan for the SNES in 1995.
The GBA version of Tales of Phantasia is a mixture of the SNES and PlayStation incarnations of the game, with most of the sprites coming from the latter version.
Tales of Phantasia would have been a much better game if the Americas had received a release for it back in the SNES days.

The year 2000 seems to be the last hurrah for the Sony Playstation, with numerous companies finishing their high-profile projects on this dated system before completely moving on to bigger and better things.
Namco seems to be no exception to the rule, with their highly anticipated PlayStation title Tales of Eternia now announced to hit Japan sometime this November.

After an artisticaly beautiful Anime intro, the tale began with a little narrative backstory, where I was told that the goddess must be awakened in order to save the world, and that the "chosen one" shall be the one to do so.
Namco's Tales of Symphonia is one of those RPGs and we were able to demo it here at E3.
For all you RPG fans who have been waiting forever for Nintendo to get a good RPG, the wait is only a little longer.

Tales of symphonia has a star laden cast of voice actors, such as various actors from the Metal Gear series and also a few from Final Fantasy X such as James Taylor (Tidus) and Tara Strong (Rikku) and with all of the high profile actors in the game...
Tales of Symphonia really tells us western gamers what the Tales series is all about.

Specifically, a new game in the Tales RPG series will evidently be revealed on the publisher's Tales Channel webpage on September 13.
Namco is already preparing a new two-dimensional Tales RPG for the PS2, Tales of Rebirth, which is due for release in Japan at some unspecified date.
I'd love a Tales game with the characters from symphonia, because that is the only one I have played, but there is no possible way they can do a sequeal to Symphonia.

Tales delivers the goods with an assortment of gorgeous spells, which don’t take forever to execute, but are no less breathtaking as a result, especially when it comes time to pull off one of those devastating unison attacks.
Tales is also quite good at distinguishing between characters and giving each of them a purpose on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, unlike Square’s recent GameCube outing, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Tales is single-player adventure first and foremost, and the multiplayer component though quite enjoyable, is more of an interesting feature than anything else, as it’s difficult to imagine your friends accompanying you on the 60-80 hour journey.

THe other 40 percent will come from Telenet Japan, as it is the codeveloper of the Tales series.

Shirley’s main purpose in the game seems to be about being the bait of various people, kidnapping her, which then allows Senel to go and rescue her.
In Tales of Symphonia you had a good range for battle, being able to shuffled upwards, downwards, and side to side, but in this game they have removed the upwards and downwards.
