Encyclopaedia Metallum - Reviews for Blind Guardian - Tales From the Twilight World
As a Blind Guardian fan who was introduced to the band during their middle era with such releases as Somewhere Far Beyond and Imagination From the Other Side, Tales From the Twilight World is a noticebly earlier release and the style leans towards their speedier beginnings at times.
This is one thing that has never been weak since Blind Guardian's entrance into the world of power metal, and although this album is sloppier than those that come after it, Hansi's voice manages to stay strong in both clean vocals and his few shouts.
Lost In The Twilight Hall is also quite a different track, with both insanely fast and slightly slower, heavier parts, and a great bridge with dueling vocals between Hansi Kürsch and Kai Hansen.

This is a double CD with a lot of attention to "Brave New World", but even the tracks of this "one of the most average" Maiden record sound powerful and eventful.

Blind Guardian are one of the very few metal bands who have found a way to charm the mainstream crown and this is no coincidence because they are simply amazing.
They are perhaps not the best metal band ever but the warmth and energy of their music can hardly be found anywhere else.
"Tales From The Twilight World" is not the best album from the band but compared to most other bands it is still great.

'Welcome To Dying' is the first gem on 'Tales From The Twilight World', a song which really embraced their newfound sound, with a very catchy and memorable chorus and wonderful riffs.
Another memorable track is 'Lost In The Twilight Hall' but with such a strong first half of the record, the second was always going to have a tough job on its hands in maintaining the quality and does lag a little behind.
The best was yet to come but as it stands 'Tales From The Twilight World' is a worthy addition to the collection of both big Power Metal fans and those getting into Blind Guardian.
