Tales of Legendia Review - PlayStation 2
Legendia's battles are the first connection to the series' past, combining Virtua Fighter-style combos with Street Fighter-style special moves and classic magic spells.
Tales of Legendia's battles are sweetened by a collection of pumping battle music.
Tales of Legendia is a great way to enter the series.

  Tales of Legendia > Review
Tales of Legendia’s battles take place on a separate battle stage, similar to the battles in most turn-based RPGs, rather than taking place on the same area where you’re traveling at the time of an encounter.
However, Tales of Legendia is not without some drawbacks; cutscenes are sometimes to long and too frequent, without enough chances for battles and exploration to balance the game play out.
Tales of Legendia is solid RPG fun, sure to brighten up the post-holiday blahs, as long as you can look past some sexist content as well as the fact that the company promised a Soul Calibur battle system and could only deliver Street Fighter.

RPG LAND Game Review: Tales of Legendia
Tales of Legendia is the latest console installment of the Tales series to make it overseas, but the many flaws it came with may cause some people to wish that it hadn't.
Tales of Legendia's story is a mainly predictable quest throughout the "island" of Legacy.
The characters of Tales of Legendia would truly benefit from a better overall storyline, but they manage to salvage what otherwise would have been a major disappointment.

Tales of Legendia for PlayStation 2 Review - PlayStation 2 Tales of Legendia Review
Tales of Legendia is a beautiful and engaging adventure that both suffers from and is strengthened by RPG conventions.
Tales of Legendia is the newest face in the Tales family, and there's a lot to like about it, from its rich and beautiful environments and easy-to-grasp battle system to its chatty and personable cast.
One of Legendia's biggest strengths is its cast of characters, and that's because there's plenty of spoken and text-based interaction between your party members at almost every turn.

Tales of Legendia graphics aren't ground breaking in any nature but it is very stunning and beautifully to look at.
Unfortunately, Tales of Legendia was released smack in the middle of Grandia III and the upcoming released of the mainstream rpg game, Kingdom Hearts II, and other smaller lesser known rpg games.

Tales of Legendia isn't going to be full of new things, is the point I'm trying to make here.
Tales of Legendia goes the obvious route, dropping you right into gorgeous cut scenes and starting its story about three years in.
Tales of Legendia takes even the most simple 3D object and makes it endearing, putting the admittedly simple-looking character models (which do look like they could have been done on a first-gen PS2 game) against beautifully drawn backdrops, causing the whole to be only a few pinpricks short of perfect.

Tales of Legendia (ps2: 2006): Reviews
Tales of Legendia's unique battle system is extremely appealing, but as far as RPGs go, it's a bit too cliche for its own good.
Tales’ traditionally creative dungeon design comes to the rescue, giving each chapter a genuine sense of adventure as you anticipate what organic shimmers or high-tech gloss might be in store.
Tales of Legendia is a pretty disappointing addition to a series of RPG’s that has managed to grow stale in the past few years.

Tales of Legendia is the follow up (in the US at least) to the Outstanding Gamecube title, Tales of Symphonia.
Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube was an amazing game, one of the few 60+ hour games that I wish never ended.
Now, their is a flip side to this, and that is that Tales of Legendia has been receiving good reviews from multiple sources, In fact, Gamespot gave it an 8.0.

I found Tales of Symphonia to be a particular standout, so I was eager to see what this year's Tales of Legendia had to offer.
Legendia is literally a colorful place to visit, with a world that is realized via a vibrant palette of bright pastels to keep the spirit light.
Despite Legendia not being greater than the sum of its parts, it gave me a world that I enjoyed exploring, and it was worth keeping the controller in hand until I reached the story's resolution.

At the end of the day, though, Tales of Legendia is a tough game to recommend picking up at a $50 price point.
If there were a lot more mini-games and what not here to distract players, Tales of Legendia’s 70 hours of gameplay would probably have been a lot more tolerable.

Legendia does away with the "Tri-Linear" system that was used in Rebirth and goes back to just one plane of action.
Legendia is still a good game, but it seems like a step down in terms fo gameplay, over all mechanics, and story when compared to Rebirth.

Tales of Legendia puts you in the shoes of Senel Coolidge, a youth who possesses the ability called Eres, which is just another fancy term for magical abilities.
Look for Tales of Legendia in February of 2006; hopefully with the new awareness here in the States thanks to the success of Tales of Symphonia, the game will sell enough that Namco might start bringing them all here, rather than cherry picking one at random.

Tales Of Legendia review for the PS2
As both Tales of Legendia and Grandia III have shipped in the same month, one thing has become instantly clear: the Japanese love their suffixes.
Tales of Legendia seems content being just another entry in the Tales series, featuring the same real-time combat and hackneyed plot as its various forbears.
But "long" doesn't equal "fun." Sans battle strategy, overland exploration and gameplay variety, Tales of Legendia is carried mostly by its bland story and flawed if interesting combat.

Legendia holds true to form, delivering all the ingredients fans require of the genre, albeit without much passion or interest.
There’s nothing particularly compelling in the story, characters or dialogue, but for a few hours you’ll probably be enthralled by how absurd the whole scenario is. We’re talking about a narrative in which a mystical baker shows up out of the blue to deliver new bread recipes to our heroes.
Legendia does away with the typical 3D RPG battle view in favor of a 2D layout much like a fighting game.
