The plant is succulent and is well suited for living in dry, hot habitats.
The species epithet, parviflorum, means "small flowers" and this species does have smaller flowers than the other species of Talinum in Missouri, T.

 Jewels of Opar, Talinum paniculatum
Intrigued, I ushered my group over for a closer inspection, and was instantly smitten by rosettes of thick, succulent emerald leaves, wands of dainty cherry-pink flowers, and exquisite, jewel-like, carmel-colored seedpods resembling candy apples.
The worn label identified the object of my curiosity as Talinum paniculatum, a pot herb indigenous to the West Indies and northern Africa, now naturalized in the southeastern U.S. The elements had rendered the plant's common name indiscernible; for me, this only added to its allure.
Luckily, the seeds sustained no damage; in fact they all germinated readily in a span of 10 days.

Despite containing a disproportionate amount of endangered and threatened species for the province, no provincially endemic vascular plants are found in this region (i.e., plants which are found only in British Columbia and nowhere else in the world).
However, there is at least one species that can only be found in British Columbia and neighbouring Washington, Talinum sediforme (Okanagan / Okanogan fameflower depending on which side of the border you reside).
There may be more, but I don't know an easy way to gather that information.
