Talisay is strategically located in the north-central area of the province of Batangas, which is located southwest of the island Luzon, and is approximately 84 kilometers from Metro Manila (National Capital Region).
It is bordered by the city of Tagaytay in the north, the municipality of Laurel to the west, the municipality of Tanauan to the east, and a vast volcanic lake called Taal Lake to the south.
Currently, Talisay is comprised of an 8-zone poblacion, and 13 surrounding barangays.

MANILA, July 8 (Xinhua) -- A tourist was reported missing on Saturday while six others were rescued in a boat accident in Batangas, the northern Philippines, some 110 km south of Manila.
The boat with 6 tourists from China's Taiwan province on board sank off Talisay, Batangas, local radio DZBB reported.
They were on their way back to Talisay from Pulo Island, which is near Taal Volcano," the radio said.
