 Historical Information about Jackson NH Indians
Article in "The Reporter" - November 19, 1980 on talk given by Stephen Laurent (Chief of Abenaki Indians) to Jackson Historical Society.
Articles in Conway Daily Sun-August 30, 2001 and Manchester Union Leader-August 22, 2001 reporting that State Archeologist, Gary Hume, agrees with the Abenaki Nation of New Hampshire in their battle with Squam Lakes Natural Science Center's plans for expansion that will encroach on a sacred burial and ceremonial site near Holderness, NH.
Article in "The Reporter" - December 10, 1980 with report on battle in May 1725 between Captain John Lovell's 34 Massachusetts Rangers and 80 Abenaki Indians at Lovell Pond (now Lovewell, Maine).

 The Moodys Will Speak About Strafford’s Abenaki History
Strafford’s long Abenaki history will be the talk of the town Wednesday, Jan. 21, when Donna and John Moody, considered among the most knowledgeable experts on native people in the area, will speak at the Senior Lunch, to Newton School students, and at the Lions Club dinner at Barrett Hall.
Their talks are co-sponsored by the Strafford Historical Society, the Morrill Memorial and Harris Library, and the Strafford Lions Club.
She is also a RN who has worked in health care for 38 years, using both traditional native and western medicine in critical care hospital and visiting nursing settings.
