During the fall of 1975, several groups of Forest Lake residents began to talk about the idea of community theatre in our area.
A nonprofit community Theatre thrives on voluntary involvement; and the growth of MASQUERS is a testimonial to public support.
In addition, MASQUERS entered the 1979 Minnesota Community Theatre Festival with Thornton Wilder’s one-act, The Happy Journey to Camden and Trenton.

McKellar returned to his own idiosyncrasies and urban neighbourhood experiences to write the television series Twitch City (CBC, 1998, 2000), which was directed by Bruce McDonald and also starred McKellar as the local anti-hero, a TV-watching agoraphobic obsessed with talk shows and a cat.
Born in 1962, McKellar was raised in north Toronto in an educated family — his father is a lawyer and his mother a teacher — with community interests in the arts and culture.

For years, the Plaza, home of Paris Community Theatre productions, has been rumored to be haunted.

Polari - or 'parlyaree' from the Italian 'to talk' - arose as a slang created by people often treated as 'outsiders,' such as theatre folk and circus people, cockneys, sailors and itinerants, who felt a special need to protect their identities or actions.
Polari acted to exclude hostile society, while providing a sense of inclusion and community for the LGBT population, reflecting their concerns and character in its formation.
Polari is one of the most intriguing aspects of LGBT heritage, but one which has fallen out of use by much of the LGBT community.

In addition to her own writing, Sears will visit classes on campus to talk about writing and is holding office hours to enable student writers and members of the community to discuss their writing and projects with her.
