Talk Reason: arguments against creationism, intelligent design, and religious apologetics
He uncovers the patently derivative nature of modern, ostensibly universalist, Jewish Orthodox ethical theories and analyzes the exotic nature of their coexistence with Jewish tribal morality, which Orthodoxy is forced to preserve and nurture.
The very existence of such a discourse -- which permeates the entire Jewish Orthodox community and takes place in every sphere, from elementary schools and the realm of politics to the kitchen and the synagogue -- is a telling testimony to the dire crisis in which this concept find itself — both intellectually and socially.
These opinions are cited from the writings of leading Jewish lawgivers in their pivotal works or are directly from the main Jewish religious sources, primarily the Talmud.

After all, creationism is a reaction, and the very fact that a Harun Yahya exists is evidence that evolutionary ideas have penetrated far enough into Turkish culture that religious conservatives feel a need to take action.
ICR-style creationism, which we tend to think of as a sectarian, evangelical Protestant peculiarity, turns out to be pre-adapted to an Islamic environment.
Some religious orders striving to create an Islamic version of modernity attacked evolution in their "science magazines," but these had limited effect -- a well-heeled and media-savvy creationism, with great production values, continually harping on the evils of evolution, was unheard of.

He goes on to talk about how this might be bad enough in a country where religion and state are constitutionally separate, meaning America, but is much worse where they are not, meaning Kuwait (but presumably even more true of places like KSA or Iran).
I am not aware of any government actually targeting those of the Islamic faith in general (well there was that thing about banning religious dress in some instances in France, but I don't think that is the same thing).
When someone is blinded by faith, religious doctrine, ideology, loyalty, history, bigotry, etc, they are very difficult to negotiate with and they can become dangerous if provoked by that which they fear the most (whatever that is in each individual case).

 CH050 - CreationWiki
Young-earth creationism didn't fail, it was replaced by the assumption of uniformitarianism.
"Gap creationism", day-age creationism, and other attempted "reconciliations" were attempts to reconcile the Bible with the new uniformitarian paradigm, not with the evidence itself.
Young-earth creationism failed early on, so scientists tried gap creationism, day-age creationism, and other attempted reconciliations.

day, and that the fossil record is the product of millions, upon millions of years of life forms dying, and not the result of one catastrophic, global flood as the Bible records in Genesis 7-8.
In addition, Dr. Ross is careless with his use of these individuals, because they did not fully support a belief in long ages as he articulates “long ages.”  Augustine, for instance, believed the 6 days of creation were instantaneous with all of the days happening in a moment.

Colin Patterson, PhD - "Can You Tell Me Anything...About Evolution?"
Patterson's title for the talk was "Evolutionism and Creationism," and that evening, a room at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City was jammed with standing-room-only's lining the sides and back.
Patterson was the author of a standard book on evolution, but in his talk he revealed that he had been considering non-evolutionary and anti-evolutionary ideas.
This phenomenon may be termed convergence; and Patterson proclaimed that "convergence is everywhere." The tenor of his whole talk tended to be anti-evolutionary, and the audience, which consisted primarily of museum-staff scientists and visiting scientists, reacted quite strongly.

 A Theory of Biblical Creation
Vocal proponents of evolutionism such as are found at Talk.Origins have employed willful ignorance and arbitrary double-standards to question the scientific legitimacy of the creation science model.
The ignorance inherent in their criticism of a caricatured “creationism” therefore comes as no surprise.
Some advocates of evolutionism have also assumed a right to reject the creationary paradigm because it does not explain in detail exactly how (in scientific terms comprehensible to the mind of man) the Creator performed the act of creation.

Fred's Bible Talk - Refuting Compromise
Ross is an individual in need of a serious rebuke and the Christian Church needs a well-documented rebuttal to the nonsensical theology and muddled science he passes off as scholarship in defense of progressive creationism.
Ross, whether intentional or not, fails to acknowledge the heavy reliance his apologetics have upon the viewpoints of materialistic atheists hostile to theism in general and Christianity specifically.
I believe Hugh Ross, as sincere as he claims to be, is overlaying the simple message of the Bible with false teaching that is hazardous to the whole of God’s Word.
