 Half Dome Ascent
I had been inspired by a ranger talk on the top of Glacier Point as we watched the sun set on Half Dome the summer before.
He described hiking around the "back side" of the dome and up some cables set into the rock.
On August 12, 1999 I set off with my daughter, Katie, her friend Diana, and my sister's family to climb this magnificent symbol of Yosemite...Half Dome.

In Islâmic lore, the Temple Mount is where the Prophet Muh.ammad ascended to Heaven in a living dream, the "Night Journey." After the Islâmic Conquest, the Caliph 'Abd al-Malik built a great shrine, the Dome of the Rock, one of the classic buildings of the Middle Ages and one of the monuments of world history.
Nevertheless, after 1967, there began to be talk of rebuilding the Temple.
This had to be done with at least a show of legitimacy since the Templars operated directly under the authority of the Pope and in theory were not even subject to French criminal justice.

Knights Templar Discussion Forum :: View topic - Rebuilding Solomon's Temple.
This notion of rebuilding the mythic Temple on Temple Mount seems even more outrageous and crazy, bearing in mind that even the medieval Crusaders respected the sanctity of the Dome of the Rock, and that even the Templars, when in control of the site, were sensitive enough to allow Muslim visitors space to worship there.
The supposed site of Solomon's Temple is presently occupied by the Islamic shrine the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
I understand that there is also talk of rebuilding the Temple elsewhere in Israel, which would not mean the destruction of the mosques on Temple Mount.

 Self-Fulfilling Prophecy?
This is likely the reason that I have never heard of one who is a dispensationalist that has tried to take matters into their own hands and resorted to some kind of human action like trying to remove the Dome of the Rock from the Temple Mount.
Given the history of the region, the long-standing ethnic and religious hatreds there, and the attempt of many nations, both Western and Arab, to carry out their own purposes in the Holy Land, it is easy to imagine the current impasse even if John Nelson Darby and his views had never existed.
For most critics of dispensationalism who believe that we are dangerous and on the verge of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy, the Temple Mount is said to be the most dangerous spot on planet earth.

 Yellowstone Supervolcano
The supervolcano eruption is a major spewing out of molten rock from within the Yellowstone caldera.
I would say the likelihood of a supervolcano eruption in the Yellowstone area in the next decade is extremely small.
They were much smaller events and not what people are referring to when they talk about a supervolcano eruption.

Extending a Classic: Off-Piste - The Backcountry Adventure Journal
When we talk about classic routes, we often speak of their physical attributes—the scenery, the route finding, the quality of rock or snow.
The Ptarmigan Traverse has all of these, but its stature as a classic is equally due to the people who pioneered it.
In 1937, the North Cascade crest between Cascade Pass and Dome Peak was largely unknown.

Australian U2 News log » Blog Archive » More Concert talk in Melbourne
TWO concerts scheduled by Irish rock group U2 for the end of the Commonwealth Games will put extra pressure on public transport and planned traffic restrictions, Games Minister Justin Madden conceded yesterday.
Mr Madden said the concerts would add to the atmosphere in Melbourne, but conceded they would also add to the logistical headaches.
Despite the extra concerns, Mr Madden said the U2 concerts were exciting and could bring more international visitors to Melbourne for the Games period.

George McCartney reviews Kingdom of Heaven and Crash
Going to his climactic meeting with Saladin, he speaks of Jerusalem’s holy places—the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Dome of the Rock, the Al-Aqsa mosque—as being “everything that drives men mad.” In Scott’s telling, faith itself is the culprit of the story.
Arriving in Jerusalem, Balian quickly wins Christian and Muslim admiration with his innate rectitude and finds himself being inducted into a small but influential coterie of unusually broad-minded crusaders who grow misty-eyed whenever they talk about their friendship with Muslims.
He just couldn’t forego the shaming spectacle of a Muslim general being more merciful in his victory than his Christian counterparts had been in theirs.
