 No Information Lost Here! Musings
No one (at least, no one I talk to) has the slightest doubt that quantum gravity has unitary time evolution in asymptotically AdS space.
Normally, I try not to devote attention to such things, but the flurry of discussion prompted me to take a look at the transcript of Hawking’s talk.
Blackholes may form and evaporate in interior, but the overall evolution is unitary and is holographically dual to the evolution in a gauge theory on the boundary.

"We talk about Newton's law of gravity, and then we talk about how you would build such a planet, and not make it a gas giant.
Jim Kakalios, a condensed matter experimentalist and comics buff, analyzes questions like these from action comics to teach physics in a freshman seminar at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
The Bernoulli principle, time travel, and the biological and physical feasibility and implications of shrinking to the size of an atom or growing into a giant are among the topics Kakalios's class tackles through comics.

Artificial gravity needed for future space missions - MIT News Office
Before a manned mission to Mars is feasible, an effective means of creating artificial gravity is needed to help prevent physical deterioration astronauts suffer during long space flights, said Dr. Laurence R. Young, the first Apollo Program Professor of Astronautics, at a talk last week.
Artificial gravity created by spinning the spacecraft, possibly in the manner depicted in the movie "2001," may be the answer, he said.
Variables such as optimum duration and level of artificial gravity, structural layout and habituation schedules need to be studied further, Dr. Young said.

Warning: Gravity is "Only a Theory" by Ellery Schempp
It is safe to say that without the Theory of Gravity, there would be no talk about a “Big Bang,” and important limitations in such sports as basketball would be lifted.
For example, “the moon goes around the earth.” If the theory of gravity were true, it would show that the sun's gravitational force on the moon is much stronger than the earth's gravitational force on the moon, so the moon would go around the sun.
His dabbling in gravity, alchemy, and calculus was a mere sideline, perhaps an aberration best left forgotten in describing his career and faith in a Creator.

Raman Research Institute Workshop on Loop Quantum Gravity
He discussed several cosmological issues from the loop quantum gravity perspective; in particular he gave a detailed overview of the meaning of the initial singularity and initial conditions, evolution through classical singularities, large volume behavior and corrections to the classical approach to singularities.
It was really impressive to see how far the developments on loop quantum cosmology have reached and the impulse that Martin's work is giving to the whole loop quantum gravity program.
During two weeks in November and December 2002, approximately 20 researchers in quantum gravity gathered at the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore for an intensive meeting on Loop Quantum Gravity and related issues.

Center of Gravity and Roll-Over Angle - Jeepaholics Anonymous
So often in our trail side conversations we talk about the CG (Center of Gravity) of one Jeep being higher or lower than the CG of another Jeep, and we relate this not only to the ability to get up or down a slope, but also to the dreaded thought of rolling over.
Yet most of us have never really figured out where the Center of Gravity is actually located on our own Jeep and similarly what the Rollover Angles are.
This write-up is an effort to provide a process that most folks can follow to determine, with a reasonable degree of accuracy, the Center of Gravity and Rollover Angles for their own Jeep.

The talk spends about equal time on the theorem and its interesting history, and the application of this theorem to a system for gravity wave detection.

This talk grew out of her earlier thesis on the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, an important theorem on the power-frequency distribution of Brownian motion in different systems.
