And in the talk page I'm allowed to call as many people "whacky" as I feel like as long as my POV doesn't influence the article or category themselves.
Arguably every single deity in history could be listed here by the definition of fictional, whereas by saying "in fiction" you're more strictly implying characters from works intended as fictional, if that makes sense.

 Mary, Holy Mother
He goes on to talk about how Isaiah borrows all his pagan mythical imagery, only then historicizes it with reference to the coming Messiah, as the ritual technical term for an embodiment of a divine mother, who is both a fecund mother, a fruitful mother, as well as a perpetual virgin.
It's entitled, "The Role of the Queen Mother in Israelite Society." This note card, incidentally, comes from about six years ago because it was right after the article came out that I was beginning to do some Old Testament research and opening my mind up to some Catholic ideas.
He then takes these Old Testament insights and shows how the writers of the New Testament see in Mary the Mother of Christ — the new Eve and the new Mother of humanity.

 Just Jews-Christianity
Because of their alignment with Rome, the Sadduccees did not want to hear talk about a Messiah -- most especially a resurrected Messiah -- since that would mean rebellion and war against Roman rule.
It is a Pharisee doctrine -- one of the principles of the Jewish faith -- to believe that the dead will be raised in the days of the Messiah (Acts 23:8 -- "but the Pharisees acknowledge [resurrection]...").
The Sadduccees were of the high priestly family -- they were the "aristocrats." They had an evil alliance with Rome, and they purchased their "high priesthoods" from Rome, in opposition to Torah Law which decrees that the high priesthood is given to one person until his death.

He didn't have time to talk to the individual who handed him a tract on the street, but he called the number on the back of the tract, and after a brief time of explanation, he prayed to become a believer in the Messiah.

But more than that was the talk of John as "Herald of the Messiah." When Andrew, who was a part-time disciple of John, came and told Peter Messiah had been found, Peter willingly joined Jesus to see what part he could play in the New Kingdom.
John, who never seemed to miss anything, turned to Peter and said, "It's the Lord!" Without hesitation, Peter grabbed his robe, slung it on hastily, and dove in the sea.

Do Old Scandals Die Hard? Tony Hendra Preps For His Next Chapter - 4/4/2006 - Publishers Weekly
With Hendra scheduled to talk to select members of the press, tomorrow it's Don Imus (who heavily championed Father Joe) and he'll also speak to someone at the New York Post, McKinney said her author would not be discussing his daughter's claims (which he has always denied).
While Jessica Hendra told PW that she has no plans to make any statements about Messiah—she said she would have come forward again if her father had published another non-fiction book—it seems unlikely that media coverage of this title won't also make mention of the post-Father Joe uproar.
Henry Holt, which is publishing Messiah (after Random House, which released Father Joe, declined to option Hendra's next work), is positioning the title as a major fiction debut with a hefty first printing of 150,000 and a 10-city author tour.

 Straight Talk about Graduate School
When we reestablished contact, a few years into graduate school for both of us, I mentioned that I’d recently gone to a sing-along Messiah (almost the only music I indulged in during graduate school, and though I wasn’t on the same level as my friend, I wasn’t too shabby in high school or college, either).
When I hit graduate school, I had given a well-received paper at a small conference, I’d completed a fairly decent book-length translation, and I had professors positively slobbering on me. I’m a Phi Beta Kappa, and I left college with a 3.97 GPA and twice the necessary number of upper-level credit hours.
When I broke the news to my parents that I was leaving grad school, and tried to explain why, my father the professor emailed me a pages-long rant describing in considerable detail how my personal shortcomings had caused my failure, and exonerating my department from all blame.

Gambara finding himself for the first time in the society of a man who did not laugh at him to his face, soon diverged from generalities to talk of himself, of his life, his work, and the musical regeneration of which he believed himself to be the Messiah.
Gambara, keenly interested in all this transcendentalism, had not lost a word; he took up his parable as soon as Andrea seemed to have ended, and a little stir of revived attention was evident among the guests, of whom several had been about to leave.
Gambara proudly exhibited the little drums, on which lay the powder by means of which he made his observations on the pitch and quality of the sounds emitted by his instruments.

 The Origins of the Koran
Where the Muslim accounts talk of Muhammad’s break with the Jews, the Armenian version differs strikingly:
The oldest Greek source makes the sensational statement that the prophet who had appeared among the Saracens (i.e., Arabs) was proclaiming the coming of the (Jewish) messiah, and speaks of the Jews who mix with the Saracens, and of the danger to life and limb of falling into the hands of these Jews and Saracens.
The Armenian chronicler of the 660s describes Muhammad as establishing a community which comprised both Ishmaelites (i.e., Arabs) and Jews, with Abrahamic descent as their common platform; these allies then set off to conquer Palestine.

Pop Occulture: President Schwarzenegger: The Third Anti-Christ?
One of the major strands of symbolism on the Etemenanki site (which I'll talk more about elsewhere) is this idea that Arnold Schwarzenegger is being symbolically/magically groomed to take on a mythological role of King / Messiah / Anti-Christ - and that he is going to become the next president.
Etemenanki also points to Schwarzenegger taking a very notable and very public role in the funeral of Reagan.
Almost forgot, there was also a cool thing on Etemenanki about Schwarzenneger's being married to Maria Schriver, since she is of the Kennedy clan.
