Talker Identification   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
Each talker is physically able to produce the acoustic patterns that listeners perceive as one vowel or another (see MAS Model), but these patterns retain individual voice signature characteristics.
Therefore, it would be expected that the task of talker identification would be an extremely reliable and efficient task as one identifies vowels other than those produced in the words /heed/ and /who'd/.
With talker identification being achieved from waveform displays, this will add to the reliable biometrics available for individual identification, and would allow voice signatures to be used on a larger scale for talker identification and as a more reliable tool for talker verification.
