 Work on Tamluk-Digha rail link apace
KOLKATA: The first train carrying construction materials rolled on to the newly constructed broad gauge line from Tamluk to Nandakumar station on Wednesday last, in the proposed 81-km Tamluk-Digha rail link.
Nandakumar is the first station of the project, located 9.5 km away from Tamluk station.
According to an official release by South Eastern Railway, the track has been laid with modern concrete sleepers and new 52 kg-90 UTS short welded panels.

Four people were killed and 22 injured, 12 of them seriously, when a bus carrying them collided head-on with an oil tanker on NH 41 near Tamluk in this district of West Bengal today.
