The Tanaka Memorial is an alleged Japanese war planning document from 1927, in which Prime Minister Tanaka laid out for the Japanese Emperor the strategy to take over the world.
Most academic historians, the Memorial is regarded as a forgery and rank it somewhere between the Zinoviev letter and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
Because the initial edition of the memorial was in Chinese, the forgery is attributed to Chinese source.

Interestingly enough, although the reality of the Tanaka Memorial is questionable, its goals were clearly carried out by the Japanese forces during the war one by one.

A "Tanaka Memorial" articulating a plan of expansion was widely circulated (for example, Japan's Dream of World Empire: The Tanaka Memorial, edited and introduced by Carl Crow, Harper and Brothers, New York, 1942), but is considered by most scholars to have been a forgery.
In 1929, Tanaka became the first prime minister to reside in the shusho kantei, the building that served as the official residence until April 2002.
