		The Tanchaz (dance-house) was the best place for emerging from hibernation.
		By the bar, older women would grab up handsome young Hungarian men and spin and spin and spin, whirling to the scratching sweet violin music played by three young or old Transylvanian men who moved slowly from table to table, drinking brandy after brandy in exchange for old favorites.
		To one side of the Tanchaz bar, past the racks where everyone’s ten kilograms of leather and woolen coats hung openly and unconcerned with theft, were the doors to the main concert space.

		We are always looking for new members, naturally, so twice a month, on first and third Saturdays, we have tanchaz (recorded music, except for live tanchaz about twice a year), where we do teaching in the early evening, then dance until late evening.
		Jómóka táncház band from Salt Lake City has performed with us for may years; if you'd like a great tanchaz, invite them to your city; make sure you say "Hi" for me to Brian (primás), Bonnie (kontrás), Craig (cimbalomos and bögös), and Tom (bögös).
