Obviously at 11, I knew nothing of the groups' past or hey-day, but it was 'Tango in the Night' that introduced me to the band and subsequently made me develop a huge interest in the group and their huge back catalogue of music.
Tango in the night was sadly the last studio album the Rumours linup has done, and considering statements by Christine McVie, it will be the last.
The low point(emotionally and musically) of her three songs on Tango, it is a truthful and biting account of her relationship with Buckingham between Mirage and Tango, and her dealing with how she felt about him.

This concert film was made during the Shaking The Cage Tour of 1987 and was in support of the Tango In The Night album of earlier that year.
Tango In The Night is a fine DVD and although it is a straight re issue of the video with no bonus or extra footage it does sit nicely alongside The Dance, which is the Rumours, line up DVD currently available.
It is also a nice contrast to that DVD release and as such should appeal to both long-term fans and newer fans alike.

Somehow it blends really well into "Tango in the Night", the album's surreal title track which appropriately enough takes the spirit of the dance aspect of the album and vocalises it for the first time.
Over a very nourish and organic musical backdrop the lyrics paint a dreamlike and vivid picturesque landscape not unlike that shown on the album's front cover illustration, except far more sensory, and again when the waltz chorus comes in, it ignites the spark of life and dance and passion.

Highlights of this DVD are the songs from the "Tango in the Night" album, like "Seven Wonders" and "Isn't It Midnight".
Filmed at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1987 when the Mac were touring in support of `Tango In The Night, this hour long concert suffers from over-production, thus losing the `live' feel unlike the Mirage tour '82 concert, Live In Boston and The Dance.
