		Tanumshede (58.733° N 11.317° E) is a town in Bohuslän, Västra Götaland County in western Sweden with a population of 1,600.
		The area around Tanumshede has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, because of its high concentration of petroglyphs (rock carvings).
		The largest flat rock of Nordic Bronze Age petroglyphs in Scandinavia, the Vitlyckehäll, is located in Tanumshede.

		Regular buses link Gothenburg to Tanumshede, and if you leave in the morning, you can spend the day at Tanumshede and be back in Gothenburg by teatime.

		Tanumshede is located in an area that is severely affected by acid rain, and its proximity to the North Sea also predisposes at the bedrock surfaces to high salt concentrations.
		The surface chemistry has been characterised through analysis of deposition, runoff from the rock surface, and solid phase microscopic analysis of the rock.

		We are in Tanumshede, Sweden now and the weather has been picture-perfect throughout Sweden and Finland since we left Norway more than 2 weeks ago.
		From Karlstad we headed for our final destination, Tanumshede (2 hours north of Gotëborg), where we were to meet up with the EP-IV rally.
		Tanumshede is just south of the border with Norway (near Oslo) so it was an easy ride back up for one last quick visit----with NO RAIN!!!

		Took the ferry to Lysekil, then back to the E6 and on to our hotel (Tanums Gestgifveri) at Tanumshede.
		Returned to the coast and visited the incredibly picturesque village of Fjällbacka, then saw the sun set over the archipelago from above a bay to the north of Grebbestad.

	Sweden to Norway Tour 2002 Cykel spårat
		At the junction we passed 2 cycle tourers who were having lunch under the shade of a tree, we said "hello" and gave them a wave as we past.
		We must have been climbing steadily since we left Tanumshede as we found ourselves on a lovely down hill stretch which went on for about 4km until it flattened out and a convenient bus shelter with seats in the shade beckoned us for lunch.
		No sooner had we sat down but there was a "Hello" and a wave from the couple we had seen earlier as they past by!
