Overcrowded campsites pump to the music from a hundred car stereos, you'll be lucky to find parking anywhere near the water, the beach bars are in full swing, and you'll be sharing the water with hundreds of like-minded souls playing 'Dodge the Kitesurfer'.
You can get waves in Tarifa with a Poniente, but a wave-head would be better off going to Cape Town or Ireland.
A couple of warnings though: It is the least friendly place I have ever been to, arrogance and 'attitude' exude from visitors and locals alike.
