We have a number of national parks, such as Namgar, Tarlo River and others which are surrounded by private property and access is by permission only.
If you are considering a trip to a national park with difficult access, then permission must be obtained and your party must observe common sense rules such leaving gates as you found them - staying on made roads and not disturbing any of the farmers stock.
Sometimes property owners have had bad experiences or they just don't want people walking across their land.

This years ACT Champs is approximately 30 km northeast of Goulburn in the Tarlo River National Park and surrounding farmland (about 1.5-2 hours drive from either Canberra or Sydney).

Once at the river, sandwiches, in particular tuna and sardines sandwiches, were unpacked to attract the Azure Kingfisher.
On the hike to the river the younger members of the group got instructed in the ancient art of sandwich soaring.
Tour-leader Stuart Harris then introduced us to some of his favourite places in the little known but just the more beautiful Tarlo NP.

Only 4.5% of Upper Lachlan Council Area is within national park or nature reserve, and less than 1% is state forest (Tables 1 and 2).
The council area includes the headwaters of two major river systems—the west-flowing Lachlan River and the east-flowing Tarlo and Wollondilly Rivers.
There is a broad band of granite running north to south east of the Lachlan River with smaller bands in the valleys of the Bolong and Wollondilly Rivers with minor outcrops elsewhere.

Leader: John W. A circuit from Glendale Crossing car park, with a climb of 500 m to a lunch spot with extensive views, then a steep descent to a high valley, and return via the mystery stone walls.
Walk from Orroral Valley car park up the Nursery Swamp track and on to Rendezvous Creek through a saddle and the straight up the opposite ridge to a campsite at the top of Middle Creek (9 km, 800 m climb on rough ground).
