Tarot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The earliest extant specimens of Tarot decks are of North Italian origin and date to the early to mid-15th century.
Study of the iconography of the earliest tarots via standard comparative-historical methods suffices to pin the origin of the depiction of Death as after the Black Death, because the skeletal-death-with-a-scythe motif found on effectively all versions of Trump XIII does not predate the plagues.
Tarot became increasingly popular beginning in 1910, with the publication of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, which took the step of including symbolic images related to divinatory meanings on the numeric cards.

PROGRESSIVEWORLD.NET: REVIEWS BY LARRY "LARRYD" DAGLIERI
This band has been around for years, steadily putting out quality disc after disc without even a small buzz to accompany each of their releases.
I will admit, that the band is quirky, or at least their last few discs were, yet somehow they intrigued me along the way.
Tarot discs have always had great productions, bar none, but this one seems just a bit heavier in the bass dept and maybe a bit clearer in the guitar dept. I'm not sure if they've changed producers along the way, but this disc just screams clarity.

Regardless, Tarot is a long-running Finnish band and Suffer Our Pleasures is a come-back album of sorts for the group.
Tarot deals from the same deck as bands like Nocturnal Rites and Tad Morose.
It is usually a ploy by bands who can not device enough interesting guitar rhythms and have to stoop to filling the space with background synthesizers.

Tarot is not alone in his new adventure.
I was wondering if Tarot would offer the same great music of yesterdays or maybe would have jumped in the train of commerciality to reach more audiences.

At least when the band is starting out, it is good to have the same guys building the energy and the groove for the whole group.
Lot of people want better and better musicians in their bands but if you don´t take care of the personal side, you may lose the originality that was there in the first place.

The finnish real men-band Tarot will always remain a band that has their own image and the image is only fueled by the words from loyal fans, praising this harsh and heavy group to the skies with a passion.
That passion is always present at Tarot's gigs, drawing hundreds of fans to see them each time and living the songs with the band, who appreciate their fans and never let them down with their show, always giving a very balanced show.
Tarot had great sounds and the place was full, which was still hard to believe, since the metal fans in Finland seem to be a bit lazy these days to go to shows.

 Archeon Tarot Review
The Archeon Tarot features a mix of traditional and non-traditional imagery in dream-like digital collage, inspired by the author's personal symbolism and mythology.
The borders are actually triple: a very narrow striped band surrounds the image, then a small area of mostly dark greens, and ultimately a narrow fl band around the outer edge of each card.
In other words, in the Archeon Tarot, sometimes very different images have been used to convey basically the "meanings" with which most of us are familiar.

The seeds for the hard-to-define Rock band Tarot were sewn as early as 1984 when three highschool friends-- Gary Dunn, Chris Pipkins, and Kenny Shipman-- discovered that their musical tastes often set them apart from their contemporaries.
One of the few things they had in common was that they had all been musicians from as early as 4 years old, and that contributed to their respect for bands established as early as the late sixties, such as Tangerine Dream, Genesis, Black Sabbath, Yes, and Pink Floyd, to name a few.
After Howard's departure from the band in 1997, Tarot took their first break from writing together in nearly fifteen years.

Originally designed as a studio band, TAROT commenced the recording of their songs, work which generated the interest of the local musical community, further augmented with live performances, particularly in the college circuit, and also serving as an opening act for international artists that played in Honduras.
Being motivated by such interest, the band again enters the studio to complete the recording of the songs which were part of their repertoire, rounding the collection with the addition of their own version of Trapecista de Adobe y Neon, a classic Requiem song, and other tunes which where completed with outside collaborators.
TAROT made an appearance in December 2003 in the Honduran rock compilation "Honduras Rocks!!" and is currently writing material for its second CD.

Sure, Tarot has been around for the better part of the past two decades, but I still think of them as “that band with the new bassist from Nightwish”.
The songs seem to have a defined formula to them, in the verse chorus verse style, but this is not a negative when the songwriting is this killer.
They are also not necessarily as technical with elaborate solos as many bands these days, but once again it doesn’t matter when you have this high of quality in the songwriting.
