Tasmanian Digital Television - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tasmanian Digital Television (TDT, callsign TDT-11) is a digital television station in Tasmania, Australia, jointly operated by WIN Television and Southern Cross Broadcasting.
TDT's effect on the digital television market in Tasmania was widely anticipated as success or failure would strongly guide the digital plans of other broadcasters.
TDT began broadcasting on VHF channel 11 from Mount Wellington in Hobart in late December 2003, and on UHF to and north-east Tasmania (including Launceston) in August 2004.

I think the reality is that SCT want to maximise their ratings as much as possible by taking the pick of the bunch from both Seven and Ten, then leaving TDT to handle a lot of the crud.
In some ways this is of course understandable, but what isn’t understandable is their lack of commitment to continue with a show if its doesn’t rate as well as expected, or their lack of commitment to set timeslots.
This would provide a balance between the needs of Southern Cross (preserving their existing ratings base for as long as possible, and ensuring current analog viewers are not shortchanged [except those that watch Rove Live, presumably]) and Tasmanian Digital Television (bringing genuinely new programming to Tasmanian viewers and maximise the uptake of digital television).
