Sources said the JSERC has put a spanner on the Tata Power’s move to supply electricity in Adityapur, one of the largest industrial zones in the country.
A power distribution licence would be granted to the company only if it agrees to supply power in the entire district covering all categories of consumers.

 Tata Power to focus more on captive generation
TATA Power plans to focus more on captive power plants in the future as an integral part of its business strategy.
It may be recalled that the company bought over the 67.5 MW captive power plant of Tata Steel at Jamshedpur for Rs 300 crore in 2000-01 and the 37.5 MW plant of ACC at Wadi for Rs 90 crore in 2000.
Tata Power is in the last round of discussions for the tender to set up the transmission line from the 1,020 MW Tala project in Bhutan.
