  WPI News & Events - WPI Signs Academic Cooperative Agreements with Four Asian Universities
The Asian universities are the National Taiwan University and Tatung Institute of Technology, both located in Taiwan and the Asian Institute of Technology and Chulalongkorn University, located in Thailand.
Tatung Institute of Technology was formally founded in 1956 with funds donated by chairman S.C. Lin, founder and former chairman of the Tatung Company.
Tatung Tech student enrollment is 2,500 with a faculty of 37 professor, 78 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, and 71 instructors.

A university in Taiwan Thursday said the creator of the CIH virus is one of its former students.
Officials at the school, the Tatung Institute of Technology, named Chen Ing-Hau, noting his initials are CIH, as the virus creator.
Tatung University said it did not take stronger action against him because he helped them try to contain the virus after originally sending it.

Since 1986, MUI is a separate university under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
There are 7 total faculties on the campus of the university out of which questionnaires were distributed to 200 respondents.

There are two major kinds of universities in Taiwan: public and private.
Public universities are funded most by government, while the private ones raise their funds most by students and miscellaneous resource, such as religious associations, industrial & comercial cliques, etc. The public university names are prefixed by "National", while those of the private universities are varied.

Tatung (www.tatung.com) is a Taiwanese company that is certainly not a household name in the U.S., but they are well respected for their quality products in Asia.
There's even a Tatung University and Tatung High School in Taipei where they breed their engineers I suppose.
Tatung is customizing the device somewhat by adding such things as DivX playback support, something past devices have not offered.

This is done by mixing the nanoparticles with the photoresist to complete the fabrication in fewer steps than currently needed.
The project deals with the fabrication and characterization of luminescent, porous and nanocrystalline silicon for use in optoelectronics and biosensing applications.
Wide bandgap semiconductors are of technological interest for photonics because optoelectronic devices operating at ultraviolet (UV) and visible wavelengths can be fabricated from these semiconductors.

Gwo-Ching Wang, professor and chair of physics, gave an invited talk on "Terascale and Terahertz Research at Rensselaer" on July 22 at Taiwan's Fu Hen Catholic University, as part of the university's distinguished speaker series.
Wang also spoke at: Tatung University on July 27; the Chinese Academy of Science, Institute of Physics on July 28; the National Taiwan University, Center for Condensed Matter Science on July 30; and National Cheng Kung University on Aug. 3.
